This handcrafted hollow kalimba is made from high-quality alder wood. The internal sound chamber is carved out by hand from a single block of wood. This method significantly reduces internal resonance and eliminates the unwanted “nasal” echo that is typical for hollow kalimbas.

The result is a clean, balanced tone comparable to that of a flatboard kalimba, while still preserving the softness and natural color of the kalimba’s wooden sound. As with all our instruments, each note sounds clear and precise – exactly what you expect from our kalimbas.

Thanks to the thoughtfully designed bass-reflex hollows – one larger at the front and two smaller ones at the back – the kalimba also allows for expressive wah-wah effects. This will be appreciated not only by advanced players but also by those looking for a new sonic experience.

This kalimba is tuned in the diatonic F# minor scale, making it ideal for intuitive play. Measuring 17 x 14 cm, it fits comfortably in adult hands. Kalimba has 15 tines and is made in a single-row layout, which makes it suitable for both beginners and professionals.
