Custom kalimba Iris is made of ash wood. It stands out with its vibrant coloration – we gave it a rainbow touch using natural waxes and non-toxic paints by Stockmar. The metal parts of the instrument are heat-treated for both tone and color.
Iris features 21 tones and a shorter sustain, making it ideal for solo playing. It is tuned in E minor, which contains the same notes as G major. This makes it perfect for improvisation, intuitive play, and melodic pieces.
With dimensions of 17 × 14 cm, the kalimba fits comfortably in adult hands. It is crafted in a double-row layout, which is convenient even for beginners or players with thicker thumbs.
